Feeding the Homeless
On Thursday, January 22, 2015, the Bulldog Chapter of G. Holmes Braddock FCCLA dedicated their time to the Chapman Partnership. Here the members were able to help out and volunteer at prep time in the kitchen and clean up the common areas. The members got the experience of feeding the homeless which was quite rewarding.
Adopt-a-Family
This year Bulldog FCCLA sponsored two families for Adopt-A-Family. Each family had its own set of unique needs. The B. Family had just recently adopted their three children after the birth mother refused to give the children their belongings they struggled to make ends meet. They were in need of clothes and food for their holiday festivities. The L. Family grandmother is currently fostering her 11 grandchildren and also struggled to have gifts and food for the holidays. Together FCCLA ran a food and gift drive for both families and succeeded in having enough food to provide four huge holiday dinners as well as gifts for all of the children. It was overwhelming to see the joy on their faces when we delivered the food and gifts.
District X Awards Banquet
On December 12, 2014, G. Holmes Braddock got to see the product of all of their hard work. After competing in 7 events, we came out on top winning 6 Highest Gold Medals, 1 Highest Silver Medals, three 1st place trophies, one 2nd Place trophy and one 3rd place trophy. We are now moving on to states with these incredible projects!
